Mafalda Borea FRSA, is Chair of Sustainable First™ and Global Head of Partnerships & Institutional Relations at E-GAP.

She Co-Chairs the Partnerships & Philanthropy Board at UN Women in the United Kingdom as well as Advisor to the Director of the Confucius Institute for Business at the LSE (London School of Economics).


Mafalda is Chair of Sustainable First ™, a platform she co-founded that features truly sustainable tourism destinations and businesses and links the impact they have in their local communities with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.


She is the Global Head of Partnerships & Institutional Relations at E-GAP, a company that contributes towards creating Smart(er) Cities by offering off-grid renewable energy storage solutions.


Mafalda sits on the board of the TravelIndex Group, a powerful portfolio of influential tourism digital brands, and is a board member of the Travel & Tourism Foundation. She contributes to the Pan-African Tourism News outlet Voyages Afriq Magazine as a Sustainability Editor.


Previously, Mafalda lead CNN’s advertising sales and client development across Southern Europe and the CIS region. Subsequently, her long standing interest in Chinese arts and culture took her on a journey to learn Mandarin, which culminated in a role as Deputy-Editor of China Report Magazine for two years. She continues to serve as an Advisor to the Director of the Confucius Institute for Business at the LSE (London School of Economics).


Passionate about Gender Equality, Social Impact and the Arts, Mafalda is a dedicated mentor for women starting in business, serves as Co-Chair of the Partnerships & Philanthropy Board at UN Women UK, is a Fellow of The Royal Society of Arts, and serves a volunteer for the charity Sant’Egidio which gives support to disadvantaged communities and work as mediators for Peace in countries at war.
